Throwing Muses: Bo Didley Bridge – Alternative rock 90`s signature sounds

Moody, other-worldly, accompanied by images from a photography class you took in high school with a pin hole camera. This will be one to get stuck in my head, right where I like it. How is it possible that every album this band produces consistently contains such quality and compelling art? KH is a monster songwriter. Every alt-rocker who’s come along since TM was formed is indebted to this band. Returning with their signature sound, the legendary Boston trio Throwing Muses, consisting of Kristin Hersh, David Narcizo and Bernard Georges, release their tenth studio album ‘Sun Racket’ start of September via Fire Records. The follow up to 2013’s ‘Purgatory/Paradise’ is an outpouring of modal guitars, reverbed shapes, echoey drums and driving bass set behind Kristin Hersh’s well-thumbed notebook of storylines and haunting vocals that get into your psyche. A ten-song opus of suitably wrought tales set against a wall of sound that’s at once calm and ethereal before building into glorious cacophonous crescendos. This Bo Didley tune is pretty good remembrence on what Kristen Hersh can do when she is ready to rock. (Jennifer Harrelson)
